| Reunion The combined Leirer Family reunion was held at Buchanans resort near Paris Tenn. on July 16th 2005. It was a disappointing get together, only about 35 in attendence. The first one we held was in 2000 and we had approximately 90 people show up. Vernon and I (Glen) thought it would not be worth while to try this again. Guess it will be up to the individual families to arrange reunions. I (Glen) would be glad to post such reunions on this web page, just let me know. Contact information is below. |

| Terrible News Received information from Ruthie about Penny Leirer passing away from Cancer. Penny Leirer died from overian cancer within a month after ahe was diagnosed. Penny lived in Gordonville, Missouri with husband Gary. She is survived by Gary and two daughters Amber and Sammy. Gary is son of Von and Joan Leirer. |

| Notice Leon Leirer passed away on Monday March 17th 2008. He was 84 years and had been taking treatments for several years for lukimia. He did very well up until the lst couple months. In fact he and Betty went on a cruise in December. His health turned for the worse about three weeks ago, and he only spent about a week in the nursing home. His furneral is at the Boyer Fureral Home in Desloge Missouri on the 20th at 9 AM. He will be buried at Jefferson Barracks in the St. Louis area. |
| October, 2008, heard from Barbara Lorberg about the Leirer Family Cemetary Fund CD. On it's maturety the interest earned was $268.60 and was sent on to the Rector Cemetary. Thanks go out to Barbara for keeping us aware our family burial place. |
| March Happenings Bob, Tim and Tom Leirer have birthdays this month. Bob will be 52 and the other two will be 51. Brandon Leirer turned 26 also this month, he is son of Jim. All 4 are sons of Alice and Glen. |
| Walter Leon Leirer passed away Febuary 15,2009 at home. Walt (Butch) went peacefully, he had been having heart and blood pressure problems, but was still working. It appears he laid on the couch to watch TV and never got up. Funeral will be held for him at the Destin Church of Christ 2/20/2009 at 10 AM with family and friends visitation the night before from 6 to 8 PM at the church. Walt turned 62, 12/31/2009 we always referred to him as another tax deduction, even though his dad did not need it since Walt was the 7th sibling born. |
May Happenings Kaye Leirer's grandson Levi Davis graduating form kindergarten on the 13th. His mom and dad Jeff and Danelle will be married 7 years on the 25th.    |
| LOOK ALL Got word from Jessica Christain, her and Mark are expecting Lydia Tess in late June. Named after her two favorite people her grandma and mother. Jessica is Toni's daughter and Grandma was Lydia Lois Leirer. |

| PRAYERS PLEASE for Nathan Green, he is very sick with cancer that the doctors say is terminal. He is home and regardless of what the doctors say he is still fighting it. Every time I here from his Grandmother Dora (Leirer) Bailey seems he is getting out more and has a wonderful outlook on his situation. Update 12/28/2008) Nathan died on 12/20/2008. Dora says he passed quitely, but was in lots of pain in the last days. There will be a memorial for him at Lee's Summit Community Church on 1/2/2009. I believe Nathan was only 36 years old. |
 Sign in Alaska While I was on a motor home trip through Alaska this summer I run across this sign. Herman Leirer was a very enfluential person in Seward Alaska, and had this road to the Exit Glacier named after him. |
